Onboard Luxury
Compagnie du Ponant’s Mediterranean
itineraries embody the philosophy that luxury
cruises are meant to explore off-the-beaten-path, unspoiled destinations—especially those
unreachable by the large cruise ships. Because
the onboard experience is just as important as
the destinations guests visit. Ponant prides itself
on discrete personalized service, assured by its
greater than 1: 2 staff to guest ratio; delicious
haute and country French cuisine; stylish
accommodations and chic design; and expansive
sun decks and open-air restaurants. The fleet’s
five yachts, three of which sail the Mediterranean,
have been designed to create nothing short of an
elegant and relaxing travel experience.

Fulfilling Mediterranean dreams
The Mediterranean has long enchanted travelers with its turquoise sea, sunny sky and
breathtaking scenery—from rugged coasts
to gently undulating shores, inviting
bays to limestone and granite cliffs, and
picturesque hillsides and olive groves to
ancient fortresses and centers of art.
Aboard the 264-passenger L’Austral,
which features the services of well-known
Parisian brand Sothy’s Spa, guests can
sail from Venice on a roundtrip exploration
of the Dalmatian Coast. The route includes
several UNESCO World Heritage Sites,
including the thousand-year-old town of
Krka, founded by a Croatian princess in
the 9th and 10th centuries; the walled city
of Dubrovnik, known as the “Pearl of the
Adriatic” for its palaces, monuments and
white stone churches; Split, the home of
Diocletian’s famous palace; and Kotor, a
medieval center known for its colorful folk
festivals.
The 90-passenger Le Levant straddles
east and west as it winds its way from
Athens to the small islands and dazzling
white villages of the Aegean Sea and on
to the pristine landscapes of the Black
Sea. In Greece, guests can visit the
romantic “Little Venice” area of Mykonos,
tour the marine crater that never fails to
astonish visitors in Santorini, or explore
the pathways, tiny villages and medieval
city of idyllic Rhodes. The rich history of
Turkey is seen in Kusadasi, a jumping
off point for one of the Seven Wonders
of the World—the Temple of Artemis—
and Bodrum, famous for housing the
Mausoleum of Mausolus, a Seven
Wonders of the Ancient World.
